Renovation prices in Israel: what drives a quote

“How much will it cost?” is the first question — and the hardest. In Israel as elsewhere, price depends on the job, but some local factors make quotes vary widely. Here's how to read them.

A few sourced figures

  • Weekday plumber call-out: about ₪250–350 incl. VAT; unblocking: about ₪350–550 (pro.co.il).
  • Gas refill for a 2.5 HP split AC: about ₪590 on average, most prices between ₪400 and ₪600 (Midrag, July 2025).

These figures are indicative: only a quote based on a precise description or a visit counts.

What makes the price vary

  • Timing: nights, Friday afternoons, Shabbat and holidays cost much more; AC work costs more in a heatwave.
  • VAT: an osek patur charges no VAT, an osek murshe or a company does. Always compare including VAT.
  • Access: floor without a lift, no parking, rubble removal.
  • Materials: supplied by the pro or by you, range chosen.
  • Existing condition: removing old tiles or bringing electrics up to standard adds work.
  • Region: prices are generally higher in the centre of the country.

How to compare quotes

Give each pro the same description, check that VAT, materials and rubble removal are treated the same way, and be wary of a quote far below the others. On travaux.co.il, one request gets you up to three comparable quotes, for free.
